Sierra College has celebrated Earth Day each year since its official worldwide inauguration in April of 1970. Earth Day events are free of charge, and open to the public; Sierra College welcomes and encourages the community to come celebrate.

This year the theme of Sierra College Earth Days Celebration will be It All Matters. It matters that the human reliance on limited and/or finite natural resources for all needs and encouraging sustainability in families, businesses, and communities. Sierra College will be promoting the “6-R’s” (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Return, Refuse, Rethink), conservation, preservation, local foods, local sustainable businesses, local music as well as local watersheds, native flora and fauna, public transportation, and more. 

Schedule of events:
-Wed (4/20) 10am-2:30pm: Fair on the quad, plant sale, Friends of the Library Book Sale, and the Sierra College Jazz Ensemble.
-Thurs (4/21) 10am-2:30pm: Fair on the quad, outdoor climbing wall, the Sierra College Wind Ensemble, Izzy Tooinsky, nature trail guided walk
-Fri (4/22) 7:30pm-9pm: Natural History Museum Lecture: A photographic journey of the Galapagos Islands.

Note: Most activities are set up outside all around the Quad/Campus Center (J-Building).
