California Clay Competition Exhibit

at Unknown

The Artery presents the 27th Annual California Clay Competition Exhibit. The gallery has sponsored this popular competition since 1990, timing it with the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art. California’s best clay artists “strut their stuff” for this eagerly anticipated show. The exhibit will feature 37 works from 34 artists chosen by our juror, Brian Tanner whose life in clay has spanned almost 50 years. He has served the Dynamic Northern California Ceramic Artists group for the last 40 years, providing clay, glazes, material, and equipment to the whole community of clay artists and potters. For the last 27 years, Brian has been co-owner of Sacramento's Alpha Ceramic Supplies, also known as Alpha Fired Arts.

The opening reception on April 29 will include the announcement of cash/gift certificate awards at 8pm that evening. Throughout the exhibit's run time, the public can view the winners and vote for the People's Choice award.
