Edwin Edebiri Launches Campaign to raise the level of happiness in Greater Sacramento by 10%. In 2009, Edwin Edebiri went out on the streets and had conversations with over 1,000 people about happiness. Without knowing, he saved someone’s life from one of the interactions that he had. Channel 10 News heard about his story and did a small documentary about it. From there, Edwin founded a non-profit called the I Am Happy Project, now in 64 cities and 19 countries, whose mission is to teach happiness as a skill.

In 2014, Edwin’s work was recognized at the United Nations and shortly after was invited to speak at TEDx. May 28th., he was featured in a PBS (KVIE) segment.According to researchers from Harvard Medical School and the University of California, San Diego, “when an individual becomes happy, the network effect can be measured up to three degrees. One person’s happiness triggers a chain reaction that benefits not only his friends, but his friends’ friends, and his friends’ friends’ friends.

“We believe if we teach 1,000 people how to be happy between September 15th and October 31st, we can effect over 1,000,000 people in the area. (1,000 to the power of 2 – google it)

We need all hands on deck!

1) Attend the classes, not just for yourself but to help others.
2) Spread the word about the classes and campaign to your family, friends and network.
