The Black Parallel School Board was formed and developed in 2008 as a community organization to work parallel with the Sacramento City Unified District Board of Education. The major responsibility of the BPSB is to support the educational growth and achievement of black students. In order to track the performances of black students, they monitor all educational activities and programs of the SCUSD to ensure that they are compatible with the needs of African American students in the district.
