Rocknasium

Rocknasium is an indoor rock climbing facility located 10 miles west of Sacramento in Davis, California. They pride themselves on making their facility welcoming to people of all ages, abilities, and motivations–from a toddler starting to experiment with coordination, to a ten year old’s climbing birthday party, to a college student looking for a fun way to exercise, to a hardcore climber training for serious competition, to even a married couple preparing for an assault on Yosemite’s El Capitan!

To celebrate Rocknasium’s 20th Anniversary in 2011, they built an entirely new gym just a couple of doors down from the original gym. They’re bigger, better, steeper, and more modern with over 8000+ square feet of climbing. They’ve got more topropes and more leading–including a huge new roof arch, an insane stalactite feature, and a new 16 foot tall bouldering wall with 47 degrees of overhang. They kept the pro-shop and added a dedicated new yoga room, and a nice hot shower.

The facility is fully climate-controlled for the scorching 100-degree days of summer and also for the damp, chilly, fog laden weeks of winter.

The gym hosts a wide array of events and programs such as week night BBQs, climbing competitions, film festivals, climbing teams, and summer camps.
