Sacramento History Museum

The Sacramento History Museum, housed in the replicated 1854 City Hall and Waterworks building in Old Sacramento, features interactive exhibits that bring to life the great Gold Rush of 1849. The Sacramento History Museum is a true celebration of all aspects of life in Sacramento over the past 200 years. The Museum tells the stories of our city founders, rivers, the Gold Rush, agriculture, the media, industry, culture, and more. If it happened in Sacramento, it's happening at the Sacramento History Museum.

Visitors to the Sacramento History Museum have a unique opportunity to delve into multiple aspects of the rich and diverse history of the Sacramento region. By exploring both permanent and temporary exhibitions visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the development of Sacramento City and County, and its unique place in the history of California and the nation.

The Sacramento History Museum is under the auspice of the Historic Old Sacramento Foundation.
