The Art and Science of Cheesemaking: Cheddar

Presented by Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op at Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op Community Learning Center and Cooking School

Explore the craft of artisanal cheesemaking and the complexities of the famous pressing process known as cheddaring. Each student will make a cheddar to take home to age and enjoy and we will taste some other amazing cheddars in class and discuss what makes each one distinct.

Sacha Laurin of the Winters Cheese Company will instruct.

This is a hands-on class using vegetarian rennet. Students will enjoy a sampling of various cheddar cheeses, and a complimentary glass of wine will be offered to students Age 21 and over.
