National Caviar Day: High Brow Happy Hour

Thursday, July 18 is National Caviar Day! Even if you already knew that (and don’t lie, you didn’t already know that), what you probably don't know is that Sacramento is the Caviar capital of the United States! That’s right, about 80 percent of the domestic supply of caviar for the entire United States comes from local sturgeon fish farms. Please insert this fun fact into your local knowledge database as another proof positive that we are indeed the farm-to-fork (or in this case fancy spoon) capital of the USA.

The Sacramento Chapter of the California Restaurant Association and CRAVE Sacramento were so enthused about the aforementioned Caviar dominance that, instead of just one day, they’ve reached out to some of the best restaurants in Sacramento to host exclusive events and offer caviar-focused menu items all weekend during Celebrate Caviar Sacramento!

So, what better way to celebrate these briny bastions of unabashed opulence than with a Chef and Wine Director led sampling of caviar and roe with complementary libations in the beautiful Courtyard Grill at The Firehouse?

That’s a rhetorical question of course, there is no better way… This exclusive event will offer a very limited number of tickets, for an intimate and succinct soirée akin to a stolen caviar kiss in the dark; a high-brow Happy Hour shindig, if you will. It will begin with a welcome glass of bubbly and passed hors d'oeuvres at the bar area of the Courtyard Grill. Then, guests will be led beyond the velvet rope, to an immaculately dressed setting. One table, which will be set for the entirety of those joining us.
