Honorable Mention: Favorites from the 2010 Worldwide Photo Walk

Photography and railroads have much in common. Both came into use in the early 19th century and both have changed constantly ever since, sometimes leading and other times responding to changes in technology. Much of our knowledge of early railroads is attributable to the work of photographers who have documented the places, people and events of the railroad.

The California State Railroad Museum will debut a new exhibit featuring 25 images created by talented amateurs who participated in Scott Kelby’s World Wide Photo Walk. Earlier this year, the Museum opened before normal business hours, providing photographers with a rare opportunity to concentrate on their artistry without competition from the Museum’s many guests--hundreds of photographs were the result. The Museum’s staff has selected the 25 images as “staff favorites,” giving them Honorable Mentions for the purposes of this exhibit. Don’t miss your chance to see this special photography exhibit.
