A Night of Poetry and Song

A night of poetry and song will delight audiences with classically trained acoustic guitarist Gabe Becker, and poetry written by prison inmates, read by a Sacramento poet laureate.

Gabe Becker:
Gabe began his guitar and musical studies in 2001 at American River College in Sacramento, CA. After receiving a performance-based scholarship, he studied jazz guitar with Kurt Shiflet, and classical guitar with Brandon Yip. He went on to study classical guitar at California State University, Sacramento with Dr. Savino. Upon returning to CSUS for his graduate work, Gabe studied guitar in master classes with many prominent guitarists; Angel Romero, the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Jason Vieaux and many others.
