I'll always remember Charles (Rick back then) as somewhat of a loner strolling the campus in his lime green cardigan, black oxfords with the white socks. We played in bands and jams together in our formative years when he only played harp and later guitar. We even competed in the band battles of the late 60's early 70's. I would go to his shows when he came to the Bay Area, bought his vinyls, cds, etc. Very gratifying g to see his legacy and memory so honored. Hopefully this can become some type of annual event where the blues community comes together and celebrates this unique American art form. Long live the "Little Charlie Blues Festival"!
