February 5, 2010
Add Review/Comment
Discovering the wonders of science and math comes in many forms and is accomplished in a variety of ways. When the National Science Center’s Mobile Discovery Center (MDC) van visits the Discovery Museum Science & Space Center (3615 Auburn Blvd.) on Friday, February 5th, visitors will be immersed in the excitement of hands-on science activities.
Housed in an 18-wheeler van and staffed by U.S. Army military and Department of Army civilian personnel, MDC van presentations convince young people that studying science, technology, and math can be exciting and fun as well as essential to their future. The MDC mobile classroom is equipped with SMART Technology to enhance visitor interactivity. Guests are immersed in the hands-on science demonstrations designed to be fun and informative while using SMART technology to respond to science questions that are appropriate and specific to the topic presented.
The 50-minute Mobile Discovery Center presentation consists of hands-on, interactive science demonstrations and is made possible by a partnership between the U. S. Army and the National Science Center, Inc. located in Augusta, Georgia.
