The State Indian Museum is proud to host a special Native Peoples lecture and book signing opportunity with Dr. Alan P. Garfinkel, who co-authored the recently-released book titled Handbook of the Kawaiisu with Harold Williams, Kawaiisu elder. During his insightful and compelling lecture, Dr. Garfinkel will relate the remarkable story of the Kawaiisu people who shared memories, culture, and beliefs with him during the research for and development of this unique handbook.
Guests are invited to the State Indian Museum to learn more about the cultural heritage and resilient legacy of the Native Peoples who still live in the Tehachapi region with a tale dating back centuries. Due to seating limitations, advance reservations are recommended by calling the number below.
