    U-CAN (United College Action Network) founded in 1988 by Dr. Alan H. Rowe provides leadership, services, and assistance to students who wish to gain enrollment in a four-year HBCU (Historically Black College or University). Since 1988 more than 36,000 students have received assistance from U-CAN. Additionally, more than 10,000 seniors have been accepted and 1,200 students have received scholarships.     U-CAN (United College Action Network) founded in 1988 by Dr. Alan H. Rowe provides leadership, services, and assistance to students who wish to gain enrollment in a four-year HBCU (Historically Black College or University). Since 1988 more than 36,000 students have received assistance from U-CAN. Additionally, more than 10,000 seniors have been accepted and 1,200 students have received scholarships. In total U-CAN has acquired more than $35,000,000 in scholarship monies on behalf of students.

    U-CAN services include:
    Student & Parent Consultation and Workshops,
    Course Selection & Career Development Assistance,
    College Preparedness Including SAT/ACT Testing,
    Admission/Scholarship Eligibility Consultation,
    Review of Transcripts,
    Financial Aid & Scholarships,
    Housing,
    Personal Counseling/Support Services,
    Black College Tour,
    Leadership Development & Training,
    Home Visits,
    Annual College Fair with On-the-Spot Admissions & Scholarships,
    End of School Year Networking,
    Events, and
    Visitations to Colleges

    Serving U-CAN students Under the leadership of Mr. Rowe, U-CAN has created successful educational partnerships, support, outreach, mentoring programs and services throughout California as well as the United States. Alan Rowe’s extensive background in public and community service also includes the following: 36 years of public service in the State of California; a 26 year member of Black Advocates in State service; a 13 year trustee, Grant Joint Union High School District, a 13 year member of Coalition of California Black School Board Members; and a 13 year member of the National Caucus of Black School Board Members.
