    Two founders of Stage Nine Theatre and one former owner of Garbeau's Dinner Theatre teamed up to create Sutter Street Theatre and Sutter Street Theatre Academy. A registered 501(c)(3) non-profit located on Sutter Street--the heart of Folsom's Historic District--the theatre presents a host of award winning comedies, musicals, and young people's theatre.

    In 2009, Sutter Street Theatre was honored to have the highest number of nominations...

    In 2009, Sutter Street Theatre was honored to have the highest number of nominations and wins at the annual Elly Awards (named after patron of the arts, Eleanor McClatchy). In addition to the theatre, Sutter Street Academy--housed in "The Annex" building directly behind the theatre--provides a wide range of learning opportunitites for both casual and committed artists from age five to ninety-five.

      Several laugh out loud moments in this well written play! I especially loved the actor who played the ghost of John Barrymore. The theatre needs ceiling fans, so dress cool (shorts and sandals cool)... Expand

      A very ambitious attempt given the space of this small theater and the set design. There is something of interest in this play for everyone and by the third act, the actors were starting to hit on all... Expand
