It’s the first 2nd Saturday of 2018 and there’s plenty of art to see! Join me to celebrate the new year with an artsy adventure on the grid this weekend.
Space and Place
My first stop of the day will be Verge Center for the Arts for “Space and Place” by Black Salt Collective exhibit. The group’s work embodies cultural and contemporary narratives and conveys a respectful exchange of cultural knowledge by weaving elemental textures that are transmuted through video, sound, collage, performance, and painting.

Northern California Masterpieces
After Verge, I will head over to Old Sacramento to the Artists Collaborative Gallery to check out paintings by Mike Patterson, a Sacramento oil painter, known for his landscapes and urban scenes of Northern California.

Next up, I’m going to indulge in a 3-course prix fixe menu at Ten22 as part of Dine Downtown Restaurant Week.

Welcome to Midtown
After a delicious meal, I’m going to head over to Midtown’s newest gallery, CK Art Gallery, for “A Sense of Place,” featuring artwork by over 15 local artists, including landscapes, abstracts, sculptures, and conceptual art, each inspired by a sense of place.
