Amelie

Amélie is a musical based on the 2001 romantic comedy film with music by Daniel Messé, lyrics by Messé and Nathan Tysen and a book by Craig Lucas. The musical premiered at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in September 2015, starring Samantha Barks. The musical opened on Broadway in March 2017 starring Phillipa Soo of Hamilton fame.

The musical follows the same storyline as the French film upon which it is based.  Amélie Poulain is a shy young woman in Paris who decides to dedicate her life to making others happy.  But can she recognize and seize happiness for herself?
