California Mountain Lions: Documentary Screening

More than half of California is mountain lion habitat, and yet some populations are at risk of local extinction, due largely to human-made causes such as urban sprawl and freeways that disconnect them. Learn about these elusive big cats and how we can help prevent their decline at a special screening of “California Mountain Lions,” an eight-part miniseries documentary.

Presented by the Karen C. Drayer Wildlife Health Center, the event is free and open to the public. A reception and raffle will kick off the evening, followed by the documentary screening and a Q&A with filmmaker Kate Remsen and Dr. Winston Vickers, series director. Dr. Vickers is the lead wildlife veterinarian of the Mountain Lion Project, part of the Wildlife Health Center’s California Conservation research program. All proceeds from the event will support mountain lion research in Southern California.
