Encaustic Workshop

Encaustic medium, pigmented encaustic, tools, some mixed media, substrates will be supplied. Students will be working in a 4”x4” to 8”x8” format. Each student will leave with four finished projects.

Level:
-Beginner

Materials:
-Pen or pencil – for taking notes
-Small scissors
-Small Matt Medium (my preference) or Modge Podge to use as an adhesive
-Small 4 oz. container for water
-Small inexpensive brush – ½” is fine
-Apron
-Ephemera (this is optional, but it really makes your work more personal).

This could include:
-Any kind of small doo-dah you would like to try including in your art piece.
I-nexpensive, thin papers (old dictionary pages, vintage children’s books, sheet music, maps, diagrams, etc.)  Not cardstock or glossy magazine pages
-Light fabric, netting, lace, decorative paper napkins, etc.
-Ink jet copies of photos – black/white or color (not original photos)
