Mother Lode Epic

The Mother Lode Epic is a unique single-day stage format endurance mountain bike race featuring four timed stages over 39 miles (32 miles of racing) and a boat transfer across Folsom Lake between the last two stages. The course follows California’s gold discovery route from the Magnolia Ranch Trailhead (near Coloma) to Historic Folsom.

The race starts at Magnolia Ranch Trailhead in Pilot Hill with various stages starting at various times. You’ll finish the last racing stage at Beals Point, and you can take some time to jump in the lake and recover before an easy roll back down to Historic Folsom where the party continues. Cruise around and check out the local scene, and get your post race recovery meal at one of the restaurants along Sutter Street. There will be live music going in the Zittel Family Amphitheater into the evening, with race awards at 5pm.

Note: This is a 39-mile epic trail/XC race with 32 miles of racing and is not recommended for beginners. Beginners interested in racing should pair up with a buddy as a relay team.
