Sacramento Community Concert Association Gala

Bring in the new year at this glorious Capital Public Radio sponsored gala event featuring acclaimed opera singers Hope Briggs and Salvatore Atti singing selections from famous opera works and hosted by the Sacramento Community Concert Association and Capital Public Radio’s own Kevin Doherty.

CapRadio host Kevin Doherty will be the Master of Ceremonies for this afternoon program, introducing the artists in this showcase of extraordinary talent.

Known as “Piccolo Pavarotti”, Tenor, Salvatore Atti, recently moved to northern California from Boston where he resided for the last decade; originating in Buffalo, NY. Mr. Atti is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance, a Master’s degree in Opera, and a Post-Master’s Certificate. During his time at the Conservatory Mr. Atti performed in eleven mainstage operas. Most notable performances include Rodolfo in La Boheme, Salvatore made his New York debut in 2015 with New Rochelle Opera in the role of Don Jose in Carmen and recently auditioned for the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.

As a critically acclaimed Verdi soprano, Ms. Briggs is known for the depth and beauty of her voluptuous voice. Ms. Briggs is hailed as “an artist of vocal sensitivity, theatrical wisdom and integrity.” Her commanding stage presence and moving interpretations have brought her to great success singing the title role in Aida with Nevada Opera, Sacramento Opera and Cedar Rapids Opera and Leonora in Il Trovatore with El Paso Opera, Opera Roanoke and Festival Opera of Walnut Creek as well as Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera with Festival Opera of Walnut Creek.

The concert and catered reception will take place at the Congregation B’nai Israel.
