The premier feature film Charlie Chaplin wrote, directed, and starred in features the actor in his iconic role of The Tramp who adopts an orphaned infant. Widely considered one of the greatest films of the silent era, it features a brief screen appearance by Granville Redmond. The Kid is also considered a reflection of Chaplin’s own lost childhood, making it perhaps his most personal and touching work.
