15th Annual Soccer Tournament Volunteer Opportunities

The Sports for Life! Soccer Tournament is a unique and exciting annual tournament for athletes 50+. Featuring both men and women’s divisions. We anticipate 40 or more teams, equaling roughly 700 athletes and fans across seven fields. Action and skill are on display all day long!

Volunteers assist the Tournament Director in a variety of duties throughout the tournament. Typical duties include event set up and take down, athlete check-in and age verification, headquarters assistance, replenishing refreshments for athletes, serving lunch to athletes on Saturday, customer service and other duties as assigned. This event may be used to earn community service hours for high school and college students. Check with your teacher/professor/counselor.

Volunteers MUST be enthusiastic and come prepared to work!

Shift Information:
Saturday, April 23rd 6am-1:30pm 16-20 volunteers needed
-11:30am-5pm approx. 14-16 volunteers needed

Sunday, April 24th 6am-12:30pm 16-20 volunteers needed
-10am-5pm approx. 14-16 volunteers needed

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. All volunteers must sign a Volunteer Waiver Form. Volunteers working Saturday, April 23rd will be provided lunch.

The Tournament Director reserves the right to release volunteers earlier than the designated end of a shift.

Potential volunteers MUST call the 50+ Wellness Coordinator/Tournament Director at 916-808-1593 or email fi***************@ci**************.org prior to being placed in a volunteer position. Do not show up the day of the tournament to volunteer if you have not already spoken to the Tournament Director prior to the tournament dates.

Covid-19 Precautions and Safety Protocols will be practiced per Sacramento County Department of Health guidelines.
