Summer of Sound Online Course

Welcome to Summer of Sound, a free online course provided by Department of Sound. If you’re looking for an introductory program that provides the basics of music and podcast production, you’ve come to the right place.

Using the web-based production software Soundtrap, you’ll learn the fundamentals of beat making, song structure & composition, audio recording, instrumentation & arrangement, podcast production, the music business and more. You’ll have access to pre-recorded video lessons and help links during this self-paced course, giving you the option of spending as much or little time needed on lessons.

A laptop or desktop computer, tablet (iPad or similar), or smart phone (iPhone, Android device) with access to Wi-Fi
