Based on the play "Our Two Consciences" by Paul Anthelme and directed by Alfred Hitchcock in 1953, I Confess is a film of twists and turns in the classic Hitchcock tradition, a story of intrigue and guilt, a wrong man character study that battles the duality of moral right and wrong, of a Canadian priest accused of murder, convincingly played by Montgomery Clift, who is compelled by his vows to shield the actual killer who has divulged his crime in the confessional.
