Temple Coffee's Free Public Tastings

Every Friday, Temple Coffee Roasters hosts a Free Public Coffee Tasting at one of their participating cafes. Lead by their training staff, Friday Tastings allow attendees to explore something fun and interesting about the world of specialty coffee.

5/3, Traditional Cupping at Temple’s Training Room (2825 S St): Cupping is perhaps the most important skill a coffee professional can develop. Come to the Training Room (2825 S St) at 12pm to practice and improve your palate as we sample some of our new and exciting coffee offerings this month, including our first ever coffee from D.R. Congo.

5/10, Study, Sleep, Coffee Demo in Davis (239 G Street, Davis, CA): The V60 pour over method is n awesome addition to any coffee fan’s home brewing setup. Named after the 60-degree angle it uses, the V60 is an easy and quick way to get a great cup of coffee at home. Join us at our Davis cafe as we demonstrate how to use a V60 while sampling some of our newest coffee offerings.

5/17, Keep Midtown Caffeinated (2200 K St): We often hear Baristas talking about the “bloom” when they brew coffee. What do we mean when we use this term and what is really happening when we “bloom” our coffee? Join us at our midtown location (2200 K Street) as we explore this concept and taste for ourselves how it affects coffee brews.

5/24, What’s Brewing at S Street Cafe? (2829 S Street): Some say coffee originated from Ethiopia when a farmer discovered his goats becoming excited after eating beans from a coffee plant. This humorous story is just one of the many urban legends concerning coffee’s origin. Join us at our S Street cafe as we learn about the history of the coffee plant and how coffee went from a wild shrub to a multi-billion dollar industry.
