In 1961 Oliver Nelson released The Blues and the Abstract Truth with Bill Evans, Freddie Hubbard, and more jazz legends. Now, Rick Shaw has his septet – accompanied by Joe Gilman, Mike McMullen, Larry Lunetta, Mark and Phil Tulga, Brian Kendrick – present this iconic album in its entirety. The Vivian Lee Quartet will open the evening with their unique brand of mainstream jazz, along with songs from their latest release Let’s Talk About Love.
