The Power of Printmaking: Curators and Printmakers

Join the Manetti Shrem Museum for an engaging and immersive afternoon where we’ll explore the politics and art of printmaking.

Curators in Conversation, 2–3 p.m.: Claudia Zapata, curator of “Malaquias Montoya and the Legacies of a Printed Resistance” and Terezita “Tere” Romo, scholar, curator and author of the first major publication about Montoya, will look closely at Montoya’s remarkable work and will provide insights into the curatorial approach to the exhibition.

Book Sale and Signing, 3–4 p.m. Tere Romo’s book “Malaquias Montoya (A Ver)” will be available for purchase and signing.

TANA Pop-Up Printmaking, 3–4:30 p.m. Student artists from @tanawoodland (Taller Arte del Nuevo Amanacer) will demonstrate their skills by pulling unique screenprints that are available to take home.
