West Sac Rhythm on the River: Cajun Folk Jazz. An all-ages family-friendly concert event.

They’re back, West Sac! 2023 is the second year of Rhythm on the River – the City’s summer concert series. They are kicking it off with three bands for the first concert event.

Be sure to bring out the entire family for this free all-ages and family-friendly event. Check out the free children’s activities in our Family Fun Zone. Food and beverage will be available from Drake’s and food trucks at the venue. Be sure to bring blankets and folding chairs to enjoy the show comfortably on the grass area.

Outside food and beverages are not permitted at this event.
Limited parking is available on the street and in parking lots, both require a fee. Residents are encouraged to utilize rideshare, West Sac VIA, or bike to the events.

Closing out the night is Tom Rigney is one of the premier American Roots Music fiddle players on the Planet.
His band – Tom Rigney and Flambeau, specializes in blazing Cajun and Zydeco two – steps, low – down blues, funky New Orleans grooves, Boogie Woogie piano, and heartbreakingly beautiful ballads and waltzes.

Opening the show is the West Coast indie groove sensations Blü Egyptian are a youthful quartet based out of Chico, CA. They have gained a reputation for their high-energy shows with extended multi-genre jams, meaningful songwriting, and entertaining stage antics. Creating a unique fusion of funk, bluegrass, reggae, world music, rock, EDM and more, they continue to push the musical spectrum every day.

Special Guest – Intermission Performance 
Founded in 1997, the Syncopating Sea-Monkeys of River City have a proud tradition of entertaining crowds while launching the careers of several members of the music industry, including New Orleans musicians Nahum Zdybel, Caleb Nelson and Gavin Eckler. The students always entertain and clearly have fun while doing it. Director Felicia Weatherly is a proud product of the Sacramento Jazz Education Foundation and in her 26th year of teaching at River City High School.
