Workshop Using Bamboo

Ikebana International, Sacramento Chapter #26 is pleased to announce Bay area floral artist, Katsuko Thielke, will conduct a workshop. Participants using bamboo rings will create their own structure for floral arranging or decor.  Katsuko is in demand as a demonstrator, teacher, and exhibitor in the art of Japanese Flower Arranging (Ikebana). Born in Tokyo, she developed her love of flowers as a small child hiking in the mountains with her father who encouraged her to find interest in the beauty of nature. Katsuko completed her Sogetsu school of Ikebana studies under the guidance of Shoko Kobayashi and Shoka Narimatsu. Katsuko has been giving demonstrations and conducting workshops throughout California and across the country since 2014. Her work has been displayed in the annual Bouquets to Art Show at the de Young Museum in San Francisco. Katsuko will be conducting a demonstration/workshop using bamboo rings.
