Wounded Veteran Run (Cancelled)

Grab your running/walking shoes and come out! The untimed 3K can be walked in just over 30 minutes; while the 5K and 10K are timed and recorded for the pros! Participate in a raffle of several great prizes from local business and the City of Folsom sponsored by Wounded Veteran Run. Several organizations that support the run’s mission will have display booths with giveaways, information and networking opportunities

Wounded Veteran Run is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization inspired by the daily perseverance and dedication of our nations combat wounded service members. Our goal is to raise awareness and donations for veteran supporting nonprofits and implement programs to support and thank veterans within our community.

Starting in 2011, Wounded Veteran Run was created by a local personal trainer as a way to promote physical fitness while simultaneously paying honor to her brother who was severely injured while serving in Afghanistan on July 14, 2010. While spending time with her brother at Walter Reed Hospital she came in contact with many other wounded veterans and wanted to find a way to help support all of our injured troops. An annual 10K, 5K, and 3K running/walking event on Memorial Day seemed like the perfect solution!

Schedule:

-8:15am: Opening Ceremonies
-8:30am: 10K
-8:45am: 3K and 5K
