Out of concern for Sacramento’s underserved population, the Observer Newspapers created the Observer Media Institute, Inc., a non-profit 501c(3) organization to serve the needs of the Sacramento African American community and other target audiences. The foundation carries out its mission through education, community awareness, and services.
