The Heart Gallery of Sacramento is a nonprofit group that volunteers time to capture the pictures of kids waiting for adoption or guardianship–specifically sibling groups and children with special needs–and to raise awareness about the need for adoptive families. These photos capture the spirit and personality of each child and are then displayed within the Sacramento Community, raising awareness, recruiting permanent and adoptive families, and providing scholarships to emancipating youth.

Currently there are five-thousand dependent children in Sacramento county being shuffled through the Foster care system. The Heart Gallery is a collaborative effort between Sacramento County Child Protective Services, Sacramento State University, Sierra Forever Families, Lilliput Children’s Services, and Court Appointed Special Advocates of Sacramento.

Heart Gallery portraits are available for display at public events. For more information, contact the gallery below.
