Anna Meier is an artist living and working in Sacramento California.  She received her BFA in Fibers from the Oregon College of Art and Craft and her MFA in sculpture at the University of Miami. While in school, Meier became concerned with sustainability and she began to question the amount of synthetics used in the textile industry. To combat this concern she began to use local plants to dye and print on up-cycled clothing and other natural fibers. Meier also works with local organizations such as the Sacramento Co-op and Soil Born Farms to teach the public how to use food and yard waste to create sustainable textiles. Each of her projects is an attempt to understand how art and creative work can make a positive impact on society and deepen our understanding of our place in the natural world.

  1. Hi there ~

Your's is the only textile artist featured**** so surprising to me.
Do they NOT consider knitting, spinning, weaving, textile design worthy to be on this site?
