Eileen Downes…the artist who “paints” with bits of torn paper for a palette. Her layered collage paintings are made from tiny pieces of torn magazine papers where selected words, phrases, and imagery become visible upon close examination. She leaves the distinctive rough edges of the collage visible which adds to the layered feeling of the artwork.

Her work can be found at Solomon Dubnick Gallery in Sacramento, CA; Woman Made Gallery in Chicago; the Blue Line Gallery in Roseville, CA; as well as a the Museum of Biblical Art in Dallas, TX.
