Brazilian Day Sacramento Street Festival is still one of the most amazing Brazilian street festivals in the Norcal! Now in its 10th year, the festival will present new rhythms, amazing performances in a day-long “Brazilian Extravaganza!”
BRAZILIAN DAY IS A NATIONAL celebration that draws millions of people across the country to festivals in major cities such as New York, Miami, and Houston. The Sacramento festival is organized by Casa de Brazilian Folkloric Arts of Sacramento, a non-profit organization dedicated to the performance and education of Brazilian Folkloric Arts in communities across Sacramento. The organization and festival are led by Brazilian-Sacramento native Mestre Caboclinho; Mestre is a world-renowned artist with over 40 years of experience in Brazilian performing arts including tours with infamous Brazilian show group OBA OBA. Each year he creates a new vision representing a piece of Brazil’s cultural identity for the festival.
The 2023 festival is turning up the heat with Brazilian Drum and Dance performances by Casa de Brazil, Samba Dance company, three Brazilian bands, a Samba/Bossa Nova singer/guitarist, Brazilian Food, a soccer penalty competition, and other amazing cultural dance performances. The festival features amazing performances such as a beautiful Brazilian Samba dance performance with Raiz Brazil dance company. Casa de Brazil performers will be drumming in the street led by youth and adult drummers. A Brazilian festival would not be complete without Brazilian Folkloric Capoeira performances directed by festival director Jose Dantas (Mestre Caboclinho) and Capoeira T.AB.C.A.T. Acrobatics, swift moves and lots of fun will be demonstrated by this group! Ana Gazzola, Brazilian Samba/Bossa Nova vocalist, will be entertaining crowds with her guitar and smooth vocals. Headlining the festival will be Brazilian band, Leo Brasil. This band brings traditional fun and happy Samba music to the stage! The event will also be filled with great vendors and a traditional Samba Brazilian Carnaval performance and more! Come out and join us for Sacramento’s only free Brazilian street festival!
