Underground Tour en Espanol (Postponed)

The tour in Spanish is guided by Mrs. Benicia (Francisca Maria Felipa Benicia de Vallejo Carrillo y Lopez), the wife of the General Mariano Vallejo. While giving the tour, Mrs. Benicia will make the past come to the present! She will tell you about her life and about the history of the beginnings of California — California before the Gold Rush, until coming to focus on the beginnings of Sacramento. She will discuss the difficult life that the first people that made Sacramento their home had to endure. Mainly, she will describe the struggle of the city of Sacramento against the tremendous floods that almost destroyed it, and what the people of Sacramento had to do to save their city.

La excursión en español es guiada por Doña Benicia (Francisca María Felipa Benicia de Vallejo Carrillo y López), la esposa del General Mariano Vallejo. ¡Al dar la excusión Doña Benicia hará que el pasado regrese al presente! Ella les contara sobre su vida y sobre la historia de los principios de California — California antes de la fiebre del oro, hasta llegar a enfocarse en los inicios de Sacramento. Les hablara de la vida difícil que tuvieron que sobrellevar las primeras personas que hicieron de Sacramento su hogar. Principalmente, describirá la lucha de la ciudad de Sacramento contra las tremendas inundaciones que casi la destruyeron. Y lo que la gente de Sacramento tuvo hacer para poder salvar a su ciudad.
