Before moving to Eskaton nearly four years ago, Joann Cochran, 84, owned a printing company in San Jose. She enjoys painting murals and uses oils to create her pieces. Her show painting, “Want a Ride?” was inspired by her dog sitting in an old truck.
Beverly Morante, 88, spent 20 years as a lighting consultant, but her passion lies in art, specifically music and painting. After growing up in Youngstown, Ohio, she spent time singing in clubs and big bands in Los Angeles and Sacramento. Beverly’s European travels influenced her art.
Marie Coolidge, 96, first took up quilting as a hobby. She was inspired to create her first quilt after going on a road trip with her youngest son to Montreal, Canada, where she fell in love with the fall colors.
Before pursuing art as therapy after a stroke, Kenneth Seymour, 54, was a software engineer with a bachelor’s degree in physics. If you’ve traveled on BART, you’ve seen the digital display systems he designed during his career. Ken says, “Art is a great way to express memories.”
Come enjoy art, music, hors d’oeuvres and beverages for free.
